“Why I started this after the Builders Coach event”

Construction Chicks began after attending a Women in Construction networking lunch hosted by The Builders Coach.
I met dozens of incredible women - smart, driven, talented, passionate but all saying the same thing:

“I don’t know many other women in construction.”
“It would be great to stay connected.”
“We need a community like this… but ongoing.”

On the way home, I realised something powerful:

Women in construction aren’t short of ambition or skill
we’re short of connection.

So I created a WhatsApp group - informally, spontaneously and within hours it filled with energy, collaboration, and generosity.
It wasn’t about business or competition.
It was about belonging.

That was the moment I knew Construction Chicks needed to become something bigger:
a community, a brand, a movement.

A space where women feel supported not just for a lunch, but all year long.
